Wound Care Stretch Videos

There’s no research to show what is THE most optimal way of doing wound care stretches. What we do know is that something needs to be done to decrease the chances of the new healing frenula from healing back down together in a gentle way. All wound care stretches will vary from providers and what you read online.

Dr. Bethany’s wound care protocol has given her great results in how she shows families what needs to be done paired with her in office follow ups after the procedure to help manage the wound healing and to support the way the new frenula will heal. Her text support is there to help families who are having some challenges with the stretches at home. Just know that we will get through this together!

In Slow Motion

What the finger is doing in slow motion during a wound care stretch.  Families have shared that watching the wound care stretch in slow motion allowed them to better understand what your finger is gently doing for the stretch.

Laying Down Position

The best position to see the wound and where your finger placement is during the wound care stretch.

Bounce and Stretch - Tongue

We know babies love movement or bouncing!  We have seen by doing the wound care stretches in this way, babies are more calm.  What is a bit more difficult about this position is that you can’t exactly see how you’re doing the wound care stretch and where your finger position is.  It’s recommended to do it in front a mirror for better visualization of your finger during the wound care stretch.

Bounce and Stretch - Top Lip
